2nd Death in Motorcycle Crash

Palm Harbor resident Shay Daniel Lydon, 20, was the driver of a motorcycle that crashed in Clearwater last week killing his passenger Angelica Lee Hall, also of Palm Harbor. Lydon died Monday from injuries he suffered in the crash.

A Palm Harbor resident who was injured in a motorcycle crash in Clearwater last week has died.

Shay Daniel Lydon, 20, died Monday from injuries he received in the crash which happened the morning of May 17. Lydon was the second person to die as a result of the crash.Β He was driving a Yamaha motorcycle on Belcher Rd. and ran a red light at the intersection of Belleair Rd. which led to a crash with a Toyota according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Angelica Lee Hall, 18, was a passenger on the motorcycle. She was ejected and died at the scene. Lydon was airlifted to Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg where he died Monday. Hall and Lydon were not wearing helmets.Β .

It was the second time the pair was involved in a crash over a six week period. On March 30, Lydon was driving a Geo Prism and pulled into the path of a Dodge Ram van on Curlew Rd. in Dunedin, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office. Hall was a passenger in the car. Both were injured in the crash .

A service for Hall is planned for Saturday .
