9/11 Memorial Groundbreaking Friday

The community is invited to attend a groundbreaking ceremony for Palm Harbor's 9/11 Memorial.

A 150 lb. piece of rusted steel beam recovered from the World Trade Center Towers will be the focal point for the Palm Harbor's 9/11 Memorial, which will be built at Curlew Hills Memory Gardens.

and  will co-host a public groundbreaking ceremony at 10 a.m. Friday, March 30. The steel beam will be on display during the ceremony. The ceremony will feature guest speakers and a 9/11 survivor story. A rendering of the memorial will also be unveiled.

The two organizations described the memorial in an announcement about the groundbreaking: "This site will be an undeniable link between our community and future generations with the memories of those lost in the 2011 terrorist attacks."
