Boy’s Mango Sales Make For Busy Summer

How are your kids passing their time this summer?

Palm Harbor, FL — While work might be the last thing on most kids’ minds as summer swings into high gear, that’s not the case for one 10-year-old Palm Harbor boy.

River Jardine has made it a habit to take advantage of time away from the books to exercise his entrepreneurial muscles. For the past few years, the Boy Scout has picked fresh mangoes from his family’s tree and sold them from a homemade stand in the downtown area.

The soon-to-be sixth-grader began his summer mango-selling business about five years ago his mother, Valerie, told Patch. He’s also been known to set up a hot chocolate stand when the temperature dips into the chilly range.

When not establishing his mango empire, River likes to fish and snorkel, his mother said. He also takes part in weekly Bible study.
