The osprey that was rescued near East Lake High had a broken metatarsus and significant bruising. The leg was operated on and pinned and is healing very well. The osprey was badly bruised from the leg all the way up under the wing. He has since recovered from a lot of the extensive bruising.
Rehab will be necessary to tell whether any nerve damage occured. So far, everything is going right for this bird so we'll keep our fingers crossed. His size and weight are on the plus side for a male osprey so we are calling him "Big Boy."
