Palm Harbor Museum Presents Sue Cobb with Beyond the Headstones: Honoring Those Who Served — Nov 4

A powerful and insightful Palm Harbor Museum Presents will take place on Wed., Nov 4th at 6:30 PM at Palm Harbor Library, as genealogical researcher Sue Cobb presents, Beyond the Headstones: Honoring Those Who Served, with histories of veterans interred at Palm Harbor's Curlew Pioneer Cemetery.
Hidden among the quiet rows of Palm Harbor's Curlew Pioneer Cemetery (est. 1869) of Curlew United Methodist Church, are stories that shaped a nation. From a veteran who served in the War of 1812 (the oldest soldier laid to rest here) to the four hometown heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice, each headstone within this final resting place for early Palm Harbor founders, veterans, and families—including the Jenkins, Sutton, Whitehurst, Riggs, and Gause ancestors—holds a tale waiting to be rediscovered.
Inspired by her maternal grandmother, Michigan native Sue Cobb developed a deep love for genealogy. Since researching and adding to the list of Veterans for the City of Dunedin, she has dedicated the last four years to researching and creating biographies for those interred at Curlew Pioneer Cemetery. Sue hopes to continue to honor stories, preserve histories and bring meaning to the lives of others through her research.
Join us on Wed., Nov 4th at 6:30 PM for Palm Harbor Museum Presents as Sue Cobb presents Beyond the Headstones: Honoring Those who Served, and discover some of the poignant and significant stories of our region and its pioneers.
