The spa's owner, Theresa Najemian has been in the industry since 1984 and began her career in Las Vegas as a massage therapist where she had many superstar clients including Kenny Loggins, Debbie Reynolds, the Pointer Sisters and Regis Philbin.

aims to be a place of peace, tranquility and happiness. That theme is evident at Shambala's new location at 1106 Indiana Ave. in old downtown Palm Harbor.

The inviting spa is located inside a charming old style Florida home, complete with a comfy screened front porch.

"I like it because it's sleepy and quiet," says the spa's very youthful-looking owner Theresa Najemian, 50, who is also an aesthetician and licensed massage therapist.

Najamian says the new location offers more parking, two treatment rooms for massages and facials, a pedicure station and four hair stations; which allows the spa to showcase its hair and nail services.

Shambala offers "Deva Curl" hair care products. Stylist Jamie Page says Deva Curl products are perfect for women who have curly hair and live in humid-prone Florida. The hair care products leave a lot of moisture in the hair and do not contain silicones, parabens or sulfates.

Page says she also teaches her clients "Curly Girl" techniques, which gets clients excited about their curls. "I show them how to go back to their roots, appreciate their curls and learn how to work with them," she said.

If you like to pamper yourself with pedicures, Shambala has a Sanijet pipeless foot bath which is known for its superior hygiene.

As for other salon services, Najemian has many years of experience, when it comes to facials and massages. She began her career in Las Vegas as a massage therapist and opened the first legitimate Massage Studio off of the Las Vegas Strip in 1987 where she had many superstar clients including Kenny Loggins, Debbie Reynolds, the Pointer Sisters and Regis Philbin

Najemian has been an aesthetician for 12 years and now spends much of her time providing skin care to her clients.

She is also excited about the spa's new location and loves being part of the old downtown Palm Harbor business community. Najemian and her husband, George often shop and dine at neighboring small businesses, "It's very important for the community, we all need to support each other," she said.
