Chessie Had a Rough Life Before Her Rescue by Pilots N Paws
Palm Harbor Patch is proud to help the Suncoast Animal League find a forever home for this great pet.

Meet Chessie, who is a Chesapeake Bay Retriever. She is 2 years old and weighs about 70 pounds.
Chessie is young, but has had a rough start to life. She gave birth to a litter of puppies under a shed sometime around late February in a remote area in Georgia. And then, she somehow had the left side of her face injured .
Fighting to keep her pups alive, fighting infection from her wound and fighting heart worms from within, the brave, young mother managed to survive long enough to be rescued. On April 5th, 2012, two pilots from Pilots N Paws, Mike and Vitaly, flew to Georgia and retrieved Chessie and her pups and brought them to us .

Today, Chessie is healthy and sweet. She has made it through heart worm treatment, was spayed, had two corrective surgeries on her face and her puppies were all adopted... now it's her turn to find her forever home!
Chessie gives new meaning to the phrase “man’s best friend.” Her loyalty and graceful demeanor are her best characteristics. She will lie at your feet and loves to be in the same room with you. Her deep brown eyes convey her love and appreciation for a home that is safe and where a meal is not something she needs to worry about. She is cautious, but playful, and while cuddling is not her style, you will never doubt her devotion to you. Chessie will always give you more than you will ever be able to give back.
