Crash Shuts Down U.S. 19

A multiple car crash shut down a stretch of U.S. 19 Friday afternoon between Nebraska Ave. and Alderman Rd. A Palm Harbor Fire Rescue spokesperson says just after 4:00 p.m., witnesses called to report a multiple vehicle crash in the northbound lanes just south of Alderman Rd.

Initial reports said that three vehicles were involved in the crash a white car, a blue scion, and white truck. A fourth vehicle may also have been involved.  

One patient, who was not restrained in the vehicle, was classified as a trauma alert patient and was airlifted to a hospital. Two other patients were reported to have minor injuries.

The cause of the crash is not yet known.
