Detectives Seek Witnesses to Deadly Shooting

Detectives with the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office would like to speak with several people who are believed to have witnessed a shooting about 7 a.m. Tuesday on Alderman Road between U.S. 19 and Belcher Road.

Deputies had pulled over Edward Warren DiGrandi, who was driving a gold 2011 Toyota Camry with Ohio plates. Investigators say DiGrandi pointed a gun at the deputies and the deputies shot him, killing him.

Detectives examined the dashboard video from deputy cruisers and have identified several vehicles and a bicyclist who were in the area at the time of the shooting.

Detectives would like to speak to possible witnesses who fit these descriptions:

• Driver and passengers in a red pickup at Grove and Alderman roads
• Driver and passengers in a white pickup westbound on Alderman Road
• Driver and passengers in a dark crossover SUV westbound on Alderman Road 
• A white man riding a bicycle westbound on Alderman Road
