Downtown Development: Public Workshop Friday Morning
Pinellas County Commissioners will hold a public workshop Friday about proposed development in historic downtown Palm Harbor.
If you're interested in development in historic downtown Palm Harbor, you might want to attend a public workshop hosted by Pinellas County Commissioners.
They'll be discussing downtown historic Palm Harbor's master plan and adding transferable development rights (TDR) provisions and amendments to the Old Palm Harbor downtown zoning district.
Β Palm Harbor software company Geographic Solutions wants to build a 19,000-square-foot office building on Georgia Avenue across from the White Chapel Church using TDRs. The building would exceed the maximum density limit by 80 percent.

Gordon Beardslee, Pinellas County's Planning Manager recommends that the TDR proposal be passed with a restriction limiting rights transferred to 25 percent of the maximum density.
The proposal has critics and supporters who've been showing up at government meetings to voice their opinions about what should be done.
