East Lake Overlay Gets Final Okay

Pinellas County Commissioners approved the overlay in a 6-0 vote on April 24.

East Lake has become the fourth Pinellas County community to be defined by an official community overlay.

On April 24, Pinellas County Commissioners approved the overlay to be incorporated into the Pinellas County Comprehensive Plan, according to the Council of North County Neighborhoods

The community overlay defines the East Lake Tarpon area as a cohesive community. The overlay will also be used as a guide for any proposed construction or development in the area, with the goal of maintaining the community's quality of life, low density, and residential character.
