Missing Man Found Safe

An elderly man who suffers from dementia was found safe Tuesday morning near John Chesnut Park, 2.7 miles away from the Stratford Court Assisted Living Facility, where he lives.

Harold William Hoffman, 85, is believed to have wandered away around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday from the facility, which is at 45 Katherine Blvd. in the Boot Ranch area. 

The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office says Hoffman was found shortly after 8 a.m., sitting on a guardrail at East Lake Road and Tarpon Woods Boulevard, which is just north of John Chesnut Sr. Park.
