Mitt Romney Rally to Bring Road Closures & Traffic to Dunedin

Dunedin takes center stage in the G.O.P. fight for Florida asΒ Republican presidential front-runnerΒ Mitt Romney swoops into town for a campaign rally Monday, Jan. 30 atΒ Β .
City officials and businesses are preparing for a large crowd of about 600 people, and issued two major road closures in the downtown area.
Romney's campaign staff rented the park for his last rally in Florida before republicans across the state head to the GOP primary polls Tuesday.Β

So far, polls have the former governor of Massachusetts ahead of the other candidates: Newt Gingrich, Rick Santorum and Ron Paul.

TIME:Β 2:30 to 3:30 p.m., accordingΒ Romney's campaign website. Romney's campaign bus arrives at 2:25 p.m. Presentation is 20 minutes. Romney departs at 3:45 p.m., according to a schedule issued from the campaign to the city of Dunedin.
ROAD CLOSURESΒ (all day through 4 p.m., according to the City of Dunedin):Β
- Main StreetΒ (from Highland Avenue to the Pinellas Trail)
- Douglas AvenueΒ (from Wood Street to Monroe Street)
Expect heavy traffic on surrounding streets (especially Skinner and Bayshore boulevards and Edgewater Drive).
COST:Β The rally is free and open to the public.
ALSO ATTENDING:Β Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi, Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam, former U.S. Senator Connie Mack, and possibly his son U.S. Sen. Connie Mack and the Dunedin city leaders.

SUGGESTED PARKING:Β Dunedin Chamber of Commerce issued a heads-up to merchants late FridayΒ . If youΒ arrive earlyΒ (why not do lunch downtown beforehand?), you may be able to park in the public lot on Highland Avenue behind Paris Hair or on Douglas Avenue across from the Dunedin Brewery.
