Florida Highwayman's Art Now on Iphone Cases

We got a first look at one of the new Iphone cases that will feature the artwork of legendary Florida Highwayman artist Robert L. Lewis, 71.

Back in the 1960's, Florida Highwayman artist Robert L. Lewis traveled throughout the sunshine state selling his landscape paintings out on the road for as little as $20.

Fast forward more than 50 years to 2012, and Lewis is now a member of the Florida Artist's Hall of Fame. He is still painting his beautiful Florida landscapes, but his work also appears on note cards and calendars, and it will soon be featured on Iphone cases.

The artist's son, Robert L. Lewis III, had one of the new Iphone cases with him Saturday during his father's appearance at Antiques and Uniques of Ozona. He says each Iphone case will feature one of his father's popular paintings.

"They'll show five or six different scenes that will be indicative of dad's versatility and style," said Lewis, who accompanies his father during appearances.

Ironically, the $19.99 Iphone cases are priced about the same as Lewis' early works. The case are expected to be available on Robert L. Lewis' website in the next few weeks or so.

A "best of" calendar called 10 Years of Robert L. Lewis is scheduled to be released in mid-to-late June. It will be priced at $13.99 in retail outlets and will include the Honeymoon Island scene that Lewis recently painted. Signed copies of the calendar will also be sold for $15.00 at Lewis' trade show appearances. Antiques & Uniques of Ozona could become a distributor of Lewis' works. Lewis hopes to visit again in September or October of this year.
