Joey the Dog Hops Like a Kangaroo!

Palm Harbor Patch is proud to help the Suncoast Animal League find a forever home for this great pet.

Our Pet of the Week: Joey

Joey's name fits him because he gets excited when he sees you and starts hopping like a "Kangaroo Joey."  He is a fun, bouncy boy!

Joey was rescued from a puppy mill in Sarasota, where he grew up in terrible conditions in a tight cage with no exercise and very little human contact.  He has made great progress over the last month and he just needs the right, patient owner to give him love and encouragement.

His tummy seems to be extra sensitive, so minimal treats would be advised and he is still working on crate and house training as it's all new to him.  He walks well on a leash but really doesn't require a lot of exercise.  He would much rather sit on your lap & be cuddled. He is a lap dog at heart.

Joey would do better in a home with no dogs or multiple maybe two or three dogs where he can be part of a pack, as opposed to a home with just one other dog where he might feel the need to be alpha. He has somewhat of a jealous streak and wants all of your attention.

Joey just wants to be someone's best friend. This dog is a trooper and deserves a chance at a real life!
