Lawmakers to Speak at Veterans Day Dinner Ceremony Tonight
Congressman Gus Bilirakis, Rep. Peter Nehr and Sen. Mike Fasano are scheduled to speak at Thursday's event which begins at 5:30 p.m.

Lawmakers from our area will attend Thursday's Veteran's Day Dinner and Ceremony, "We Salute You" at the Spanos-Pappas Community Center in Tarpon Springs.Β
Congressman Gus Bilirakis (FL-09) who is from Palm Harbor, Rep. Peter Nehr, R-Palm Harbor and Sen. Mike Fasano, R-New Port Richey are scheduled to speak. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Wounded Warriors Project.
Tarpon Springs Mayor David Archie will also speak at the event which will feature Colors presented by the Tarpon Springs Police Department Honor Guard. The National Anthem will be performed by Soprano Sandy Chambers who will be accompanied by the Tarpon Springs Honor Chorus directed by Derek Chaisson. Entertainment will be provided by local artists, the Bamkickers. The event will be co-hosted by Lee Barlas and George Chambers of Barlas & Chambers.

The event will include a silent auction and raffle for an Apple Ipad2 WiFi 16GB.
Tickets are $5. Dinner will be provided by local restaurants serving the Jacobsen Culinary Arts Academy. Organizers are asking that people bring one non-perishable food item for a food drive benefitting the Shepherd Center.
