Library Offering Paid Internships

Are you a teen looking for a summer internship?
The is one of 40 libraries nationwide that was awarded a $1,000 YALSA/Dollar General Summer Teen Internship Program Grant. The grants help libraries across the country provide training and stipends for teens to aid in planning and carrying out summer reading programs.
The Palm Harbor Library plans to distribute the money as $500 stipends that will be given to two teens who are awarded summer internships.

“This will enable us to offer increased interaction with the young patrons participating in our Summer Reading Clubs,” said Diane Colson, Youth Services Librarian. “Younger children love getting attention from teens. And the teens will be a great help designing programs for older participants.”
The library is looking for teen applicants with the following qualifications-

- Energetic
- Enjoys the company of children & other teens
- Familiar with the components of the Palm Harbor Library's Summer Reading Program
- Preference will be given to candidates with volunteer experience at the Palm Harbor Library
