Man Accused of Kicking Pregnant Housemate in Stomach

A Palm Harbor man faces a felony aggravated battery charge in connection with a disturbing attack against a pregnant housemate.

Pinellas County Sheriff's Deputies say Howard J Getz, 57, threw a pregnant female on the ground, pulled her hair and punched and kicked her in the stomach. The incident happened around 12:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 4, according to an arrest affidavit.

Deputies say Getz lives in the same home as the victim. Her age was not included in the affidavit. The victim refused medical treatment. 

The arrest affidavit describes Getz as disabled. It also says he may have been having some mental health issues at the time of the alleged attack and may have been under the influence of drugs and alcohol.

Getz is in the Pinellas County Jail. His bond is set at $50,000.
