Marilyn Monroe Print Featured at Charity Auction
Proceeds from Friday night's "Art for Animals" auction will benefit the Suncoast Animal League.
An eclectic collection of donated art will be auctioned during tonight's "Art for Animals" fundraiser for the Suncoast Animal League.
A print from celebrity photographer Milton H. Greene featuring Marilyn Monroe holding a Pekingese puppy is one of the items that could prompt a bidding war. The print is from Greene's archives.
"George" the goose, who resides at the Suncoast Animal League will also have a painting on the auction block. George has a unique painting technique that no human can match. To see George at work, click here.

Other pieces scheduled for auction include a signed and numbered print, "Return to Picnic Island" from artist Christopher Still that features a heron. The print is from a piece that was originally commissioned by the Sandpearl Resort on Clearwater Beach.
A stained glass piece from Ontario, Canada artist Charles Ciupa features a cat called "Purrfect". And three works from Tarpon Springs artist Michelle Mardis are included in the offerings along with many other non-animal themed pieces.

The auction will be held from 5pm to 9pm Friday, June 24 in the Grand Hall at Nielsen's Oldsmar facility which is located at 510 Brooker Creek Blvd.
The preview is from 5pm to 7pm, the art auction will be held from 7pm to 9pm. The event will also feature live music, raffles and light hors 'doeuvres. For more information, click here.
