Oscar is a Laser Toy Fanatic, Layla is a Smart Border Collie-Mix!
Palm Harbor Patch is proud to help the Suncoast Animal League find forever homes for these adorable pets.
Dog of the week: Layla
Layla is a Border Collie mix who likes cats, other dogs, and would probably love to have a big child or two to play with all day long. Layla is one year-old, she is housebroken and her owner has health issues and could no longer keep her.
Layla loves to chase balls, run with you, and just chill out with you while she chews on a bone.

Border Collies are known for their loyalty, intelligence and fun, high-energy personalities. It's not coincidental that you see so many doing complicated agility courses and crazy stunts catching Frisbees on TV. They have the ability to focus on complicated tasks and want to please their owners. They are happiest when they have the chance to burn off energy for a while every day, so Layla will need daily walks and a fenced in backyard.
Because of her energy level, she might not be a good match for a home with toddlers. Lola tries to be gentle, but since she's young, she gets excited when she plays and might accidentally knock down a tiny child.

Cat of the Week: Oscar
Oscar is an adorable five month-old, solid-black, male kitten. He's definitely one of the coolest kitties we have at the shelter, which is saying a lot because we have some truly GREAT cats!
Oscar was a stray, but he's been living the good, indoor life since he was about five weeks-old and has decided it suits him. He loves to play and wrestle with other cats. He is gentle with children and good with dogs too.
Oscar is a laser toy fanatic, but is also very content to sit in your lap and get attention. He will greet you at the door when you come home, and is a real purr machine.
