Palm Harbor Fire Official Wins Florida Safety Educator of the Year
Liz Monforti was honored with the award from the Florida Association of Fire and Life Safety Educators during the organization's annual conference in West Palm Beach.

Liz Monforti is tops in the state when it comes to educating and informing the public about safety issues.
Monforti was presented with the Safety Educator of the Year award during the Florida Association of Fire and Life Safety Educators (FAFLSE) annual conference last week in West Palm Beach.
βTo be held in the same capacity as past award recipients, whom I have personally gained so much knowledge and history from, is such a privilege and a great honor,"Β said Monforti.

Monforti also emphasized that the success is a reflection of the support that the Board of Palm Harbor Fire Rescue Fire Commissioners and department personnel have for community safety education.
Monforti serves dual roles as the Public Education Specialist and the Public Information Officer for Palm Harbor Fire Rescue (PHFR).Β

As Public Education Specialist, Monforti's duties include creating and presenting fire and life safety education and awareness programs to the public and to private business groups and organizations.
As the Public Information Officer, Monforti communicates information to the media and public about fires and other newsworthy events.
Monforti has worked at PHFR since 2006. "She has been deeply involved with the fire department and the community since her arrival," says PHFR Chief James Angle.
