Man Leads Police to Hit & Run Suspect

Authorities say a pickup truck hit and killed a man who was trying to cross U.S. 19 in Pasco County. A Palm Harbor resident, who was a passenger in the truck, called investigators and identified the truck's driver.

A Palm Harbor man who was a passenger in a pickup truck involved in a deadly hit and run in Pasco county, called authorities to identify the truck's driver, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.Β 

Investigators say Scott Isenberg, 36, of Dunedin was driving a 2004 Ford pickup south on U.S. 19 in Holiday just before 9.pm. Tuesday, when he hit a man who was trying to cross the highway just north of Beacon Square Drive.

Investigators say Isenberg drove away after hittingΒ JosephΒ Vandoren, 31, of Holiday.Β VandorenΒ was taken to Trinity hospital, where he died from his injuries. Investigators say he was wearing dark clothing at the time of the crash.

Wednesday morning, Andrew Lindenburg, 53, of Palm Harbor called the Florida Highway Patrol to report the crash. LindenburgΒ told investigators that he was a passenger in the truck at the time of the crash and Scott Isenberg was the driver of the truck.

Isenberg was then located at his Dunedin home and his truck was later found at the Dunedin Marina. The truck was seized as evidence, according to authorities.

Charges are pending in the case.
