Palm Harbor Teen Airlifted After Pedestrian Crash

The Florida Highway Patrol says the boy was on his way to school Friday morning when he was struck by a truck.

PALM HARBOR, FL — A 15-year-old Palm Harbor High School student suffered serious injuries during a Friday morning crash on Alternate U.S. 19.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Arthur J. Price, 53, of Tarpon Springs was driving south on Alternate U.S. 19, approaching Delaware Avenue, around 6:45 a.m. Friday. As he approached the intersection, Jacob Giner was walking east across Delaware to access the Palm Harbor High School campus.

Giner, a highway patrol report said, was in the marked cross walk with flashing amber lights when he was struck by Price’s 2013 Toyota Tacoma.

Giner, a ninth-grader at Palm Harbor High, was airlifted to Bayfront Medical in St. Petersburg. Troopers say he suffered serious injuries in the crash, but is currently listed in stable condition.

Price was ticketed for a right-of-way violation.
