Palm Harbor Weekend Music Scene

As always, there are plenty of choices this weekend when it comes to live music in Palm Harbor

If you're looking to kick back and stay in town, you picked a good weekend to do it.

Ben Bryan performs Friday from 7pm to 10pm at . Bryan is a singer songwriter who fuses acoustic rock with other elements such as jazz, to deliver an effective and infectious sound. His original compositions and powerful voice, as well as a huge repertoire of crowd favorites make Bryan an entertaining performer.   

The hosts its weekly open mic night on Friday starting at 8pm. All newcomers are welcome and the chilled-out intimate setting is a great place for musicians to hone their craft and for listeners to hear a variety of local talent.

Also on Friday night, Tyson Marshall will be playing at . Marshall is the frontman for the Tampa based band Offshore Riot but also performs as a solo artist with his trusty acoustic guitar. He plays a mixture of original tunes and cover versions, adapted for his own unique style which blends rock, reggae, blues and r&b. The show starts at 9pm and runs through to 1am.

The Markunas Brothers take to the Boyles Backyard Grill Stage on Saturday night. From 7pm to 10pm these Tampa Bay music veterans will be performing their own unique brand of rock. The duo have been playing together for over 20 years and incorporate some very different sounds in their act, such as the steel drum.

Saturday night is band night in Palm Harbor. Visitors to the Witch’s Brew can see the ever popular Rumorhazzitt who take the stage at 8pm. Rumorhazzitt is a four piece rock outfit who perform everything from classic rock bands like Grand Funk Railroad to more contemporary artists such as Counting Crows. They also play original music written by lead singer and guitarist Thaddeus Wiley.

On the same night Peggy O’Neill’s plays host to Jeriko Turnpike on Saturday night, a rock duo consisting of vocalist and guitarist McLean Mannix and drummer Chris Carbonaro. The band plays a diverse range of original rock from softer ballads to harder tracks with a raw edge.

Those looking for something a little different can still find live entertainment at on U.S. Highway 19 where comedian Jack Willhite is performing on both Friday and Saturday night. Willhite uses a combination of impressions, music and props to deliver a unique style of comedy that has taken him all over the U.S.A.

Those still looking for more music can find Michael Nichols playing at Boyles Backyard Grill on Sunday from 6pm to 9pm. Nichols recently recorded his second album entitled Swim at Your Own Risk, a collection of tunes with a folk rock flavor. Playing a wide variety of covers as well as his own tunes, Nichols’ shows have something for everyone.
