Palm Harbor Weekend Music Scene

Blues, rock, reggae, classical, jazz and much more can be heard in Palm Harbor this weekend. If that doesn't suit you then you can always head to open mic night and play something that does.

The lounge at on Tampa Road plays host to Interplay on Friday night. This local jazz trio performs no-nonsense jazz from 7pm to 10pm.

house band Flying High will be performing at 7pm on Friday and Saturday night. The duo plays a blend of classics as well as some less well-known tunes. Both members of the band sing and bring a harmonic interplay of vocals to their sound.

At the it’s Open Mic Night on Friday from 8pm onwards. All comers are welcome to play, sing or just enjoy the music.

Also on Friday night, the Black Honkeys are playing at at 9pm. This eight piece band will be bringing a little funk to Ozona with their catchy performances of Motown and soul classics. As well covers of artists such as Marvin Gaye, The Temptations and Kool and The Gang, the band also have some funky original tunes.

On the same night plays host to Jeriko Turnpike on Saturday night, a rock duo consisting of vocalist and guitarist McLean Mannix and drummer Chris Carbonaro. The band plays a diverse range of original rock from softer ballads to harder tracks with a raw edge.

Those looking for a more mellow sound should check out Jeff Canale at the Witch’s Brew on Saturday night. A renowned acoustic guitarist, Canale plays a variety of musical styles from classical to contemporary. During one of his performances you will hear everything from James Taylor and The Beatles to Pink Floyd, REM, Phil Collins and John Denver. You will also hear some of Canale's own original compositions. The show starts at 8pm and runs to 11pm. You can even catch the show online at www.livestream.com/thewitchsbrew

Over at JC Craver's in Ozona the band Raised by Wolves will be performing on Saturday night. The band plays rock and blues and the show starts at 9pm.

Spin 40 take to the Peggy O’Neill’s stage on Saturday night. The show runs from 9pm to 1am.

There are tunes to be heard on Sunday afternoon at Fairway Pizza. Those who enjoy the sounds of the tropics can hear some classic island music from 12pm to 4pm.
