Palm Harbor Weekend Music Scene

Reggae, Rock, Soul, Jazz and Blues! You can hear a wide variety of music this weekend in Palm Harbor.

house band Flying High will be performing at 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday night. The duo plays a blend of classics as well as some less well-known tunes. Both members of the band sing and bring a harmonic interplay of vocals to their sound.

At the it’s Open Mic Night on Friday from 8 p.m. onwards. All comers are welcome to play, sing or just enjoy the music.

On Friday night Tyson Marshall returns to . Marshall is normally seen performing with Tampa based band Offshore Riot but on Saturday night he will be going solo artist with his trusty acoustic guitar. He plays a mixture of original tunes and cover versions, adapted for his own unique style which blends rock, reggae, blues and r&b. The show is from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.

The stage at is the place to see Jimmy Griswold on Friday night. An experienced blues player, Griswold has performed all over the world and opened for some big names including guitar great Robert Cray. Fans of old school blues will enjoy this show which kicks off at approximately 9 p.m.

On Saturday night, reggae artist Bonnie Bowers will be performing at the Witch's Brew. Bowers takes a wide range of influences and styles and arranges them in her own unique island style to produce something both catchy and soulful. Everything from 1940’s favorites to the present day tunes get the Bowers island makeover. Now based in Tampa, the Cleveland native has worked with some very impressive names in the past including The Wailers Band, Bo Diddley, Andy Summers, The Band and Dave Stewart. Bowers performance at the Witch's Brew will be broadcast live on www.livestream.com/thewitchsbrew

Also on Saturday night, a familiar band returns to Peggy O’Neill’s. Regulars Badranch will be performing on Saturday night at 9 p.m. This popular band draws on a mixture of diverse musical backgrounds to create a distinct style which blends smooth melodies with a darker edge.

At JC Craver's in Ozona, Tampa based band Plush will be performing on Saturday night from 9 p.m. This five piece group features a variety of musical styles in their performances from Rock to R&B, Soul to Jazz. A typical set might include tunes from contemporary artists such as Pink, Dave Matthews and John Mayer as well as classic artists such as Led Zeppelin, the Doobie Brothers and Michael Jackson
