Palm Harbor Weekend Music Scene
This weekend in Palm Harbor you can hear just about every style of music imaginable from reggae to rock, ska to jazz, funk to folk and blues to fusion.
On Friday night plays host to Flying High. This duo consist of acoustic guitarist Derik Sivers and keyboard player Alan Pelno. These two musicians both sing and combine their vocal talents on many songs to deliver some great harmonies. Flying High always try to be unique in their music so while they can play many of the classics, their sets often feature some less frequently heard covers. The band play two shows at Fairway Pizza this weekend, both Friday and Saturday night starting at 7pm.
The plays host to Elephant Gerald on Friday night. This three-piece band features Jeremy Douglass on keyboard, Steve Turner on Drums and Ice on bass. The band plays a blend of jazz, funk and fusion creating a distinct and unique sound which they apply to classics and popular modern tunes as well. Everything from Miles Davis to Cole Porter gets an Elephant Gerald reworking. The show starts at 8pm.
host its weekly open mic night on Friday starting at 8pm. All comers are welcome and the chilled-out intimate setting is a great place for musicians to hone their craft and for listeners to hear a variety of local talent.

Also on Friday night Dave Bearce will be gracing the stage at . The vocalist and guitarist is often seen playing with other local musicians but on Friday he will be performing solo. His sets include original music as well as covers from the likes of Crosby, Stills and Nash and Matchbox Twenty. The show starts at 9pm and runs to 1am.
Over at in Ozona the band Raised by Wolves will be performing on Friday night. The band plays rock and blues and the show starts at 9pm.

Taking to the patio stage at the Witch's Brew on Saturday is guitarist Jack Poland. An accomplished acoustic player, Poland performs folk and rock tunes and classics from the 60’s and 70’s. The show starts 8pm.
At the Palm Harbor House of Beer visitors can see Bam-Boo-Da performing on Saturday night. This St. Petersburg based band has a unique style coming from a blend of reggae and rock with a bit of funk and ska thrown in for good measure. The music starts at 8pm.
On Saturday night The Black Honkeys are playing at JC Craver's at 9pm. This eight piece band will be bringing a little funk to Ozona with their catchy performances of Motown and soul classics. As well covers of artists such as Marvin Gayle, The Temptations and Kool and The Gang, the band also have some funky original tunes.
The Jason Parker Duo will be performing at Peggy O’Neill’s on Saturday night. This two-piece version of the Jason Parker band perform a variety of contemporary tunes as well as classics from the 70’s and 80’s. Rock, pop and alternative favorites get an acoustic reworking when this band performs. The show starts at 9pm and runs until 1am.
