Palm Harbor Weekend Music Scene
Solo performers, full bands, open mics and even a first birthday party. There's a lot going on this weekend in Palm Harbor with a great musical soundtrack.
Kicking off a weekend of music in Palm Harbor is the band Flying High, who play at Fairway Pizza on Friday night. These two musicians both sing and combine their vocal talents on many songs to deliver some great harmonies.
Flying High aim be unique in their music, so while they can play many of the classics, their sets often feature some less frequently heard covers. The band play two shows at this weekend, both Friday and Saturday night starting at 7pm.
Friday night sees Mike Nichols bring his acoustic guitar to the Palm Harbor House of Beer. Nichols can be found hosting the H.O.B. open mic night every Monday, but on Friday night you can see him performing solo all evening.

Nichol’s distinctive vocals and catchy guitar playing make him one of the area’s most popular solo performers. His sets usually contain a mixture of originals and covers, all performed in his unique and energetic style. The tunes start at 8pm.
Not sure what kind of music you are in the mood for? Then head down to on Friday night where it is open mic night. From 8pm onwards you can hear all kinds of talent performing a variety of different musical styles.

The stage at is the place to see Jimmy Griswold on Friday night. Griswold is an experienced blues player who has performed all over the world and opened for some big names including Robert Cray. Fans of old school blues will enjoy this show which kicks off at 8pm.
On Friday night Tyson Marshall returns to . Marshall is normally seen performing with Tampa-based band Offshore Riot, but on Saturday night he will be going solo with his trusty acoustic guitar. He plays a mixture of original tunes and cover versions, adapted for his own unique style which blends rock, reggae, blues and r&b. The show starts at 9pm and runs through to 1am.
Playing at the on Saturday night is the band Down Beat, who will be helping the bar celebrate its one year anniversary. This four-piece group describe themselves as funky soulsters, with vocalist Kelly Pankcake joined on stage by bassist John Whited, drummer Jason Morris and guitarist Bob Cintia. The band has a mellow, soulful sound, performing covers of such tracks as Summertime and Son of a Preacher Man. The music starts around 8pm.
Gary Griffith will be taking the patio stage at the Witch's Brew on Saturday night. Griffith is part of the band Doublevision, but on Saturday night he will be performing alone. Songs from artists such as the Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel, Van Morrison and Supertramp are all featured in Griffith’s sets. The show starts at 8pm and can be seen live on www.livestream.com/thewitchsbrew
Blues & Company will be performing at J.C. Cravers in Ozona on Saturday night. This multi-tasking three piece band features Dana Moore on bass, keys, guitar and vocals, Doc Shaker on lead guitar, vocals and percussion and Robin Kelly on drums and vocals. The band draw on many classic blues players for influence including Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf and B.B. King. They also throw in a little rock to their performances from the likes of artist such as Creedance Clearwater Revival. The music starts at 8pm and runs until midnight.
Also on Saturday night, a familiar band return to Peggy O’Neill’s: Regulars Badranch will be performing on Saturday night at 9pm. This popular band draws on a mixture of diverse musical backgrounds to create a distinct style which blends smooth melodies with a darker edge.
