Palm Harbor Weekend Music Scene
While the Parrot Head Party will be dominating the downtown area, there are plenty of other places to find live entertainment this weekend.

Folk University will be playing at on Friday night starting at 6pm. This trio has been playing together since 1998, though their musical influences stretch back to the 60’s and 70’s. The band plays a variety of tunes, mostly in the acoustic folk and rock genres.
As always, Friday night is open mic night at the . All comers are welcome to play and the fun starts at 8pm.
host Badranch on Friday night at 9pm. The band quote a wide range of musical influences from the Beatles to Blind Melon and Cat Stevens to Soundgarden. The result is a distinct style which blends smooth melodies with a gritty edge.

The music starts early on Saturday with both Peggy O’Neill’s and Witch’s Brew hosting musical acts during the Parrot Head Party. The steel drumming of Alpha Steel start things off at 2pm at Peggy O’Neills.
In keeping with the tropical flavor, Bonnie Bowers performs her unique brand of reggae and folk at the Witch’s Brew at 4pm. John Mayeux will be doing his best Jimmy Buffett impression from 6pm at Peggy’s and then at 8pm Xtra-Mile take to the Witch’s Brew stage.

Rounding off the night downtown, Palm Harbor regular Ben Bryan will be performing at Peggy O’Neill’s at 10pm. Mixing things up a little, Bryan will take to the stage accompanied by renowned saxophonist Mike Ratza to perform some original music with a funk, jam and rock flavor.
On Saturday night the Ozona Blue stage will be occupied by Cosmic Voodoo who play from 6pm to 10pm. This Clearwater based band has been together for 11 years and in that time have built a huge repertoire of music. A typical Cosmic Voodoo set includes classic rock, funk, alternative rock, metal and even disco making then a very versatile and entertaining band.
Providing an alternative to live music, Snappers Grill and will be hosting Carl Faulkenberry for two nights of comedy. Faulkenberry’s humor stems for his quick wit and well worked punch lines and has seen him perform all over the country, from New York’s Comic Strip to The Improv in Los Angeles. He brings his own special brand of comedy to Snappers on Friday and Saturday night starting at 8:30pm.
Those with any energy left after the Parrot Head Party can head to the Witch’s Brew on Sunday where Stan & Mark will be hosting an acoustic jam from 1pm onwards.
