Palm Harbor Weekend Music Scene
This weekend listeners can enjoy a mixture of hip hop, classic blues and rock at the various venues in Palm Harbor.

The Stick Martin Show will be in town on Friday night, performing at from 9pm to 1am. The band consists of Stick Martin on vocals and guitar, Harlow on bass and vocals, Gerald Pilkey on drums and “Sweet” Bobby Cock on guitar and vocals. This fun and funky four-piece have built themselves quite a reputation throughout the Tampa area for their distinctive sound and live performances. The band draws on a variety of influences from Ween and Beck to HedPE, Tool and Eminem.
The Stick Martin Show members are also fans of Rehab, a successful alternative hip hop band from Georgia and the two bands will be sharing a stage on July 9 at The State Theater in St. Petersburg.
At the it’s Open Mic Night on Friday from 8pm onwards. All comers are welcome to play, sing or just enjoy the music.

Blues fans should head down to JC Cravers in Ozona to see Blue Lightning. This four-piece outfit play a variety of classic blues and rock from the likes of Cream, Jimi Hendrix, Allman Brothers Band, Chuck Berry, ZZ Top and Led Zeppelin. The band performs from 8pm to 12pm.
Those looking for a more mellow sound should check out Jeff Canale at the Witch’s Brew on Saturday night. A renowned acoustic guitarist, Canale plays a variety of musical styles from classical to contemporary. The show starts at 8pm.

On Saturday night Tyson Marshall returns to the Peggy O’Neill’s stage. Normally found fronting the band Offshore Riot, Marshall is flying solo on Saturday, performing his own blues, rock and reggae blend of music.
Backwater Blues Band will be playing their own original music as well as some upbeat arrangements of some classic tunes at JC Cravers on Saturday night. This three-piece have been playing together since 1997 and call on a variety of blues influences from Texas blues to Chicago and New Orleans Blues.
Rounding of the weekend’s music on a more mellow note, Stan & Mark host their weekly Acoustic Jam on the patio of the Witch’s Brew from 1:30pm to 3:30pm on Sunday.
