Palm Harbor Weekend Music Scene
New faces, old favorites, solo performers and full bands. There's something for everyone to enjoy this weekend in Palm Harbor.
house band Flying High will be performing at 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday night. The duo plays a blend of classics as well as some less well-known tunes. Both members of the band sing and bring a harmonic interplay of vocals to their sound.
The hosts its weekly open mic night on Friday starting at 8 p.m. All comers are welcome and the chilled-out intimate setting is a great place for musicians to hone their craft and for listeners to hear a variety of local talent.
Friday night sees Mike Nichols bring his acoustic guitar to the . Nichols can be found hosting the H.O.B. open mic night every Monday but on Friday night you can see him performing solo all evening. Nichol’s distinctive vocals and catchy guitar playing make him one of the area’s most popular solo performers. The band Stormbringer will be taking to the stage. This veteran band has been playing together since 1986 and while the five piece outfit has seen many changes in line up over the years they have always found a following in Florida and beyond. The group plays a mixture of classic rock, from artists such as Pink Floyd and Bon Jovi, as well as original tunes. On Friday night, Tyson Marshall returns to . Marshall is normally seen performing with Tampa based band Offshore Riot but on Saturday night he will be going solo artist with his trusty acoustic guitar. He plays a mixture of original tunes and cover versions, adapted for his own unique style which blends rock, reggae, blues and r&b. The show starts at 9 p.m. and runs through to 1 a.m.

Saturday night sees Jason Hillaby taking the stage at the Witch's Brew. Jason is a Palm Harbor resident, better known by his stage name Jaybone. Playing a fairly even mixture of original music and covers, Jaybone’s shows cross over a variety of genres including 80’s pop, surf guitar, classic rock, reggae and contemporary rock. A new face on the Palm Harbor music scene will be performing at the House of Beer on Saturday night. Wynn Taylor is a singer songwriter, originally from Kentucky, who honed his craft in Austin before moving to the Tampa Bay area. Taylor’s intricate acoustic guitar playing and soulful voice blend well to deliver songs both powerful and touching. Blues & Company will be performing at J.C. Craver's in Ozona on Saturday night. This multi-tasking three piece band features Dana Moore on bass, keys, guitar and vocals, Doc Shaker on lead guitar, vocals and percussion and Robin Kelly on drums and vocals. The band draw on many classic blues players for influence including Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf and B.B. King. They also throw in a little rock to their performances from the likes of artist such as Creedance Clearwater Revival. The music starts at 8 p.m. and runs until midnight.
