Palm Harbor Weekend Music Scene
Palm Harbor will hear a mixed soundtrack for this weekend with blues, rock, alternative and reggae bands performing at various venues across town.
On Friday night plays host to Flying High. This duo consist of acoustic guitarist Derik Sivers and keyboard player Alan Pelno. These two musicians both sing and combine their vocal talents on many songs to deliver some great harmonies. Flying High always try to be unique with their music, so while they can play many of the classics, their sets often feature some less frequently heard covers. The band play two shows this weekend, both Friday and Saturday night starting at 7pm.
The hosts its weekly open mic night on Friday starting at 8pm. All comers are welcome and the chilled-out intimate setting is a great place for musicians to hone their craft and for listeners to hear a variety of local talent.
Its all about the blues at this weekend with two local blues bands taking the stage. First up on Friday night is Blue Lightning who perform from 8pm to 12am. This four-piece band play a varied set of blues and rock classics from the likes of Stevie Ray Vaughn, Cream, Jimi Hendrix, Allman Brothers Band, Pink Floyd and John Mayer.

Rumorhazzitt returns to the patio stage at the Witch's Brew on Saturday night. This four piece rock outfit perform everything from classic rock bands like Grand Funk Railroad to more contemporary artists such as Counting Crows. They also play original compositions written by lead singer and guitarist Thaddeus Wiley.
The Mike Luke Duo will be performing at on Saturday night starting at 9pm.

Continuing the blues theme at JC Cravers, Backwater Blues Band comes to Ozona on Saturday night at 8pm. This blues trio performs original music as well as some up-tempo covers of well known classics. Formed in 1997, Backwater Blues Band draws on a wide range of influences, in particular Texas, Chicago and New Orleans Blues.
Those looking for a bit of island flavor can find it at on Sunday afternoon. The venue will be hosting its regular Reggae Sunday from 12pm to 4pm.
