Palm Harbor Weekend Music Scene

It's a musical madhouse this weekend in Palm Harbor with many great bands and performers to choose from.

starts the weekend music off at 7 Friday night with the band Caribbean Cowboy. This three-piece band plays a mixture of country and rock fused with island music such as calypso and reggae. Typical sets include everything from Bob Marley to Randy Travis and Johnny Cash.  

Solo performer Jake Jacobson will be playing at on Friday night. With his trusty acoustic guitar and vocal talent, Jacobson plays a wide range of music in the acoustic rock genre. The show starts at 7 p.m. and runs until 11 p.m.

At you can catch Elephant Gerald from 8 p.m. This trio band features Jeremy Douglass on keyboard, Steve Turner on Drums and Ice on bass. The band plays a blend of jazz, funk and fusion creating a distinct and unique sound which they apply to classics and popular modern tunes as well. Everything from Miles Davis to Cole Porter gets an Elephant Gerald reworking.

Looking for some musical variety to kick start your weekend? Then head down to the on Friday night where it is open mic night. From 8 p.m. onwards you can hear all kinds of talent performing a multitude of different musical styles. 

Chad Britt will be performing at on Friday night. Britt is sure to be a hit with fans of country music. The performance starts at 8 p.m.

On Friday night The Black Honkeys are playing at at 9 p.m. as part of the venue’s Halloween Party. This eight piece band will be bringing a little funk to Ozona with their catchy performances of Motown and soul classics. As well covers of artists such as Marvin Gayle, The Temptations and Kool and The Gang, the band also have some funky original tunes.

Dave Bearce returns to on Friday night. This popular vocalist and guitarist is often seen playing alongside other local musicians but will be performing a solo set at Peggy’s on Friday night. His sets include a mixture of original compositions along with covers from artists such as Matchbox Twenty and Crosby, Stills and Nash. The show starts at 9 p.m. and runs to 1 a.m.

Two bands will be providing the entertainment at Dockside Sports Bar & Grille on Saturday. CC Beagle Head start off the music at 1 p.m. This band is named for their four biggest influences; CCR, The Beatles, The Eagles and The Grateful Dead. Also performing at Dockside is the band Dirty Mike and the Boyz who take the stage at 5 p.m. and then at 9 p.m. C C Beagle Head return for an encore set.  

At Large will return to Fairway Pizza on Saturday night. This husband and wife combo are regulars at Fairway where they have won the crowd over with sets of top forty tunes. The show starts at 7 p.m.

On Saturday night, singer songwriter Eric Thompson will be playing at The Thirsty Marlin. Thompson is a seasoned performer with a huge repertoire of songs which includes covers ranging from AC/DC and America to Willie Nelson and The White Stripes. At The Witch's Brew solo player Jason Hillaby takes to the patio stage at 8 p.m. Jason is a Palm Harbor resident, better known by his stage name Jaybone. Playing a fairly even mixture of original music and covers, Jaybone’s shows cross over a variety of genres including 80’s pop, surf guitar, classic rock, reggae and contemporary rock. This guitar and vocalist can be seen and heard live on www.livestream.com/thewitchsbrew 

Playing at the Palm Harbor House of Beer on Saturday night is the band Down Beat. This four-piece describe themselves as “funky soulsters” with vocalist Kelly Pankcake joined on stage by bassist John Whited, drummer Jason Morris and guitarist Bob Cintia. The band has a mellow, soulful sound, performing covers of such tracks as Summertime and Son of a Preacher Man. The music starts around 8 p.m.

Blues & Company will be performing at J.C. Craver’s at on Saturday night. The band draws on many classic blues players for influence including Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf and B.B. King. They also throw in a little rock to their performances from the likes of artist such as Creedence Clearwater Revival. The music starts at 8 p.m.

Rounding off the weekend’s music is the band Jeriko Turnpike who perform at Peggy O’Neill’s on Saturday night. Regularly seen on the stage at Peggy’s, this rock duo play a diverse range of original rock, from softer ballads to harder tracks with a raw edge. The band consists of vocalist and guitarist McLean Mannix and drummer Chris Carbonaro. The show starts at 9 p.m. and runs until 1 a.m.
