Parking Study Results Presented Tuesday

Parking in Old Downtown Palm Harbor has been at the center of a heated debate for more than a year now.

The results of a study about downtown parking will be presented during a Pinellas County Commissioners work session Tuesday morning.

Palm Harbor Patch has obtained a copy of the study. Here are a few of the proposed changes-

  1. Two-hour parking limit from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday along Florida Ave. to discourage employee parking in this area. Consistent enforcement of the two-hour time limit is recommended.
  2. Promote shared parking as office and retail/restaurant uses tend to have opposing peaking characteristics.
  3. Promote underutilized public parking areas. Install way-finding signs throughout downtown Palm Harbor to let people know about the parking lot at the White Chapel-Harbor Hall.
