Pedestrian Hit on Tampa Rd.

Investigators say 38 year-old Jason Billingham was carrying a gas can while crossing the road toward his van.

A Palm Harbor driver hit a pedestrian who was walking to his stalled van at the intersection of Tampa Rd. and Sunflower Dr. in Oldsmar around 10 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office.

Jason Billingham, 38, is in critical condition at Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg. Two drivers involved in the accident were transported to Meese Countryside Hospital in Safety Harbor.

Investigators say Billingham's 2003 Dodge Caravan was stalled in the median lane and may have run out of gas. He was hit while crossing Tampa Rd. as he traveled from the north to the center median. Deputies say he did not cross the street at a crosswalk.
