Popular Florida Newgrass Band Gypsy Wind to Play Witch's Brew
The Witch's Brew is mixing it up this weekend by featuring a different type of music than usual -Newgrass.

This weekend, the is cooking up a special treat for newgrass lovers; a performance by Gypsy Wind, billed as Florida's premiere newgrass band.
Newgrass is a spinoff of bluegrass and is also known as progressive bluegrass. Gypsy Wind mixes acoustic newgrass and gypsy swing for a unique sound.
Witch's Brew owner, Lesley Klein says this is the first time Gypsy Wind has performed at her venue, "It's a different kind of music than we usually have," she said.

Gypsy Wind has shared the playbill with many bluegrass greats including The Rice Brothers, Tim and Molly O'Brien, Mark Johnson, The Waybacks, The Greencards and The John Cowan Band.
Gypsy Wind has also opened for Norman Blake, Del McCoury and Dan Hicks. The group has also performed live with fiddle virtuoso Vassar Clements at the Florida Folk Festival.

The Saturday performance is from 8 to 11 p.m.
