More Improvements for Putnam Park Fields
Following new dirt and sod for the baseball field, netting was added around the soccer field.
After receiving approval at a meeting of the Palm Harbor Community Services Committee in April, the soccer field at recently had new netting installed atop the fences that surround the field.
According to Palm Harbor Parks & Rec director Erica Lynford, roughly $7,000 was spent to put up the soccer netting.
“We had new nets put up to prevent soccer balls from going into neighbors' yards. The cost was approximately $7,000," Lynford said.

The addition of the netting comes on the heels of upgrades to the park's baseball field, which received new infield clay and sod in the offseason.
“The local Little League contributed money to the baseball field repairs, making the work possible,” Lynford noted of the work, which she valued at approximately $10,000. “When we talk about being creative with our budget, that’s what we’re talking about.”
