RNC Delegates Endure TS Isaac, Bus Snags, Long Rides, But Enjoy Innisbrook Stay
Delegates from Florida and South Carolina booked more than 500 rooms at Palm Harbor's Innisbrook Resort for their stay during the Republican National Convention. So, what did they think of the resort?
The Republican National Convention got off to a rocky start for Florida delegates staying at .
Tropical Storm Isaac forced the . Then on Tuesday, the RNC to pick up delegates to take them to the convention, causing delegates to arrive late. Then, some delegates because of charter bus delays. And of course, there was the long commute to the convention in downtown Tampa.
But, despite the mishaps, delegates we spoke with were impressed with the resort, even if it was some 25 miles away from the convention.

"They're treating us really well. It's a beautiful resort. It's far away from the convention center, that's the only frustrating part. But, I would certainly bring my family back to vacation here," said Republican Party of Florida Chairman Lenny Curry, .
"I like it a lot. It's far, so you have to allow more time to get places. It's quiet, it's lovely and it's a different atmosphere, so I'm happy," said Ellen Hoffman who lives in The Villages.

Joan Todd, who also lives in The Villages, enjoyed her stay. "The staff has been wonderful," she said.
Innisbrook Spokesperson Ramona Hurley says delegates had plenty of praise for the resort. "People went out of their way to tell us how great the staff was and how nice the service was," she said.
Hurley says its been very pleasant getting positive feedback from the delegates.
"It ended on a nice positive note."
