Silver Alert Cancelled: Missing Man Found After Crash

Authorities say the 73 year-old Palm Harbor man suffers from dementia.

A Palm Harbor resident who was the subject of a statewide Silver Alert Sunday evening, was hospitalized after crashing his car in Hillsborough County.

The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office says 73 year-old Gregor Warren Rupe crashed his car near the Citrus Park Mall late Sunday evening. Rupe, who suffers from dementia, was taken to a hospital in Pinellas County.

The crash came a few hours after the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office issued the Silver Alert for Rupe. He had reportedly left his residence on East Orange Hill Ave. in a 2003 blue Saturn.

Authorities have not released any information concerning whether Rupe was injured in the crash. They only say he received medical attention and was transported to a hospital.Β
