Talk Like a Pirate on Sept. 19!

dek

There's no need to wait for Gasparilla to talk and dress like a pirate. September 19 is the 10th annual "International Talk Like a Pirate Day". To celebrate, the Palm Harbor Library is throwing a pirate-themed party for all of you swashbucklers, whoo hoo!

Palm Harbor Library Assistant Chris Parker came up with the idea.

"She's invaluable when it comes to creative ideas," said Lois Eannel, Assistant Director at Palm Harbor Library.

The library even offers a cool way for you to brush up on your pirate-speak before the party. You can learn to speak pirate using the library's online language-learning system "Mango".

So if you want to party like a pirate, put your pirate hat on your head and your parrot on your shoulder and head on over to the Palm Harbor Library on Wednesday, Sept. 19. The "Talk Like a Pirate Day" celebration will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. at the library. The shin-dig will include pirate stories, games and pirate-themed activities like treasure hunts.
