Tarpon Springs Residents Asked to Avoid Driving
Tarpon Springs Police say they're concerned about flooded roadways and residents' safety while we're feeling the impact of Tropical Storm Debby. They're asking people to stay off the roads.
The following is a message to residents from the Tarpon Springs Police Dept.-
The City of Tarpon Springs, like most of Pinellas County and the Tampa Bay area is experiencing extreme flooding throughout the entire city. Residents are asked to avoid driving as most roadways are either impassable or lead to a road that is under water.
At this time, there are no reports of injuries or power outtages. Mostly street flooding (vehicles being driven in these areas are being stranded), and some homes and businesses are being flooded.
