Two Palm Harbor Teens Hurt in Dunedin Car Crash

Two Palm Harbor teenagers have been taken to St. Joseph's Hospital with serious injuries following a car crash at the intersection of Curlew Road and Fisher Road in Dunedin.

According to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, 56-year-old Robert Wagner was traveling westbound in the curbside lane of Curlew Road approaching Fisher Road with his 1997 Ford Econoline Van.

Anna Savchuk, 16, and her passenger 16-year-old passenger Kayla Brock, were heading southbound on Fisher in a 2006 Hyundai Sonata, crossing Curlew Road when the Hyundai was struck on the driver's side by Wagner's van, the sheriff's office said.

The crash occurred at 6:59 a.m. Wednesday.

Deputies say both Savchuk and Brock were taken from the vehicle and were transported by air to St. Joseph's Hospital for treatment of serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

Wagner was not injured in the crash.

Deputies say Savchuk appears to have violated the van's right-of-way.

Neither alcohol nor drugs appear to be a factor in the crash, the sheriff's office said.

The investigation continues.
