Underage Runaways Were Used for Prostitution, Detectives Say
Detectives have arrested a Palm Harbor man they say took in underage runaways who were involved in the sex trade.

A Palm Harbor man faces prostitution charges after detectives say he harbored underage runaways who were involved in the sex trade.Β
James Garrett Perdue, 61, is charged with procuring a person under 18 for prostitution, as well as possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.Β
This month, the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office received tips that Perdue was harboring runaways and providing them with drugs and alcohol, according to a media release. An investigation revealed he was assisting underage girls involved in prostitution.

Detectives believe the incidents began in January. They executed a search warrant on his home May 23, found evidence linking him to the charges, and arrested him. He was taken to Pinellas County Jail.
