Teacher is Ozona Blue Burn Victim
Elementary school teacher Katie Hudgins is hospitalized with burns.
We're learning more about the woman injured during a flaming dessert mishap at Palm Harbor's Ozona Blue restaurant over the weekend.
25 year-old Katie Hudgins suffered 1st, 2nd, and 3rd degree burns and was airlifted to Tampa General Hospital Saturday night, after she was burned by flaming alcohol that spilled during the preparation of a Bananas Foster flambe' dessert.

Palm Harbor Patch spoke with the school's principal, Kathy Brickley who says that Hudgins is a 1st grade teacher who just finished her first year teaching at the school.
Brickley did not want to speak about the incident out of respect for the family's wishes for privacy, but did comment, "She's a lovely young lady."

Brickley says she is in contact with the family and she will notify Palm Harbor Patch about any possible opportunities for the community to offer their support to Hudgins.
"I know the community will want to help, and reach out to help her and her family," she said.
Four other people were injured during the accident. 56 year-old Patricia Rogers was hospitalized with what fire officials described as respiratory burns. She has been released from the hospital.
A Pinellas County Sheriff's Deputy says three other people suffered minor injuries and were not taken to the hospital.
