Witchstock 2011: Halloween Costume Contests, Music & More
Plenty of prizes are up for grabs in the 5th annual family-friendly Halloween bash this Saturday in Historic Downtown Palm Harbor.
On Saturday, don't be alarmed if it looks like swarms of witches, and mobs of costumed pets, kids, and adults have taken over Historic Downtown Palm Harbor, Witchstock 2011 will be in full swing.
This is the 5th year for the free annual event which is sponsored by the , a coffee and ice cream shop in Historic Downtown Palm Harbor.
Witch's Brew owner, Lesley Klein, describes Witchstock as a cross between Woodstock and Halloween. The event features live music, contests, prizes, psychic readings and vendors showcasing jewelry and other items. Klein says Witchstock is one of the best family-friendly and fun Halloween events in Tampa Bay, "We're excited about our 5th Witchstock event which we expect to be bigger and better than previous years," she said.

The event will be held from 3 p.m. to midnight, Saturday, Oct. 29.
The contests have proven to be very popular in past years. At last year's Witchstock 55 children participated in the Kids' Costume Contest, 42 people participated in the Adult Costume Contest, there were 15 contestants in the Pet Costume Contest, and 11 people participated in the Corona Lime Carving contest.

Here's a rundown of this year's Witchstock contests-
Pet Costume Contest (3:30 p.m.)
Winner receives a customized Witchstock Trophy provided by Landmark Trophies, plus gifts from Healthy Pets Groceries and Elegant Paws Groomer.
Children's Costume Contest (5:30 p.m.)
All winners receive a customized Witchstock Trophy provided by Landmark Trophies.
1st Place Prize: 4 tickets to the Clearwater Aquarium to see "Winter" the dolphin who is featured in the movie "Dolphin Tale". Winner also receives a stuffed dolphin that looks like Winter.
2nd & 3rd Place Prizes: 2 tickets to the Clearwater Aquarium to see "Winter" the dolphin who is featured in the movie "Dolphin Tale".
Adult Costume Contest ($5 entry fee) (9 p.m.)
1st Place Prize: $100
2nd Place Prize: $75
Sexiest Costume: $50, plus a customized Witchstock Trophy provided by Landmark Trophies.
Lime Carving Contest sponsored by Corona Beer (6:30 p.m.)
Last year’s prize was a Corona bicycle.
Witchstock will feature three musical acts beginning at 4:30 p.m. with Terry Premru, who will fingerpick songs from The Wizard of Oz on his acoustic guitar; at 6:30 p.m. Jack Poland & Friends will play songs from the 60s to get you in the Woodstock mood; and from 7:30 to 11 p.m. the Defendants will rock the house.
New this year: the event will be livestreamed on www.livestream.com/thewitchsbrew and archived on the internet for on-demand viewing.
