The YMCA says its volunteers give people from all walks of life a chance to get healthier, both physically and mentally.

"With a focus on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility, Y volunteers give men, women and children of all ages and from all walks of life the resources and support they need to be healthy, confident, connected and secure," according to theΒ YMCAΒ website.Β
There are four areas of opportunities for volunteering at the YMCA: personal development, health and wellness, building relationships and community connection.Β
