2. Mosley coach talks about two early wins despite tough schedule early on (wjhg.com) — Mosley High's football team in Panama City is 2–0 after two nail-biter home wins and now heads to Niceville for a key district matchup Friday night. Coach Tommy Joe Whiddon explains why he scheduled such tough early opponents and how the rivalry with his alma mater motivates his players.
3. Lynn Haven mayor opposes cutting animal shelter from budget (wjhg.com) — Lynn Haven's mayor says he will not support cutting the city's animal shelter as commissioners search for budget savings that could include a millage rate increase. He and neighbors now report multiple bear sightings and he's urging locals to secure trash, stay calm during encounters, and avoid running if surprised.
5. Old Westrock paper mill to be demolished in Panama City (newsherald.com) — Demolition permits have been issued to tear down the old Westrock paper mill in Panama City, with asbestos removal already underway and work expected to continue into 2027. The nearly century-old site, which closed in 2022 and once employed hundreds, will be cleared to the slab, though there are no public plans yet for what might replace it.
