Today's riddle: How do billboards talk? 🤔 (Answer below!)
1. Hurricane Isaias Florida power outage tracker (mypanhandle.com) — Hurricane Isaias is already knocking out power across the Panama City area, with local cooperatives and Florida Power & Light reporting thousands of affected customers. Residents are urged to report outages using the listed phone numbers or apps so crews can respond quickly as winds and rain intensify across the Panhandle.
2. Hurricane Isaias live updates (ajc.com) — If you're flying to or from Panama City this weekend, Delta has already canceled some Saturday flights because of Hurricane Isaias and is warning more disruptions are possible. The airline is also waiving certain change fees for affected routes, giving local travelers a chance to adjust plans without extra cost as the storm's path evolves.
3. Hurricane Isaias On Land, Moving North (iheart.com) — Hurricane Isaias has come ashore near Destin and is driving storm surge, strong winds, and heavy rain across the Panhandle, including five-and-a-half-foot surge at Panama City Beach. Areas just east of Panama City are under a tornado watch, and forecasters warn of flash flooding as the storm races north through the night.
4. U.S. Veteran Tyler Pegnetaro's Journey for Mental Health (lsureveille.com) — A 26-year-old Navy veteran who grew up in Panama City is walking and hitchhiking across America to raise awareness for mental health and suicide prevention. After overcoming his own crises and treatment in California, he's documenting his coast-to-coast trek online and sharing a message of positivity, hoping brief encounters with strangers will encourage others facing similar struggles.
5. Isaias weakens to Category 1 hurricane after Florida landfall (statenews.net) — Hurricane Isaias has weakened to a Category 1 but is still churning just over 100 kilometers west-northwest of Panama City, bringing dangerous winds and flooding risks across the western Panhandle. Residents should stay alert for downed trees, power outages, and flash flooding as the storm tracks through Alabama toward the Tennessee Valley.
