Don Gaetz is drafting bills to overhaul Florida's Department of Children and Families after a scathing grand jury report and high-profile local custody disputes. Escambia and Santa Rosa County parents say children are being removed without sufficient cause, while Gaetz promises tighter oversight, stronger parental appeal rights, and penalties for false information in court.
