• Gulf Breeze police seeking motive in fatal shooting at Bahama Bay condos (pnj.com) — A man was fatally shot early Sunday at the Bahama Bay Condominiums off Pensacola Beach Road, and Gulf Breeze police are still trying to determine what sparked the violence. Investigators say several people traveled from Pensacola Beach to the condos before the shooting, and the suspect now faces manslaughter and multiple related charges as detectives review surveillance footage.
• Pam Childers sues Escambia County over $1.1 million budget cut (pnj.com) — Escambia County Clerk and Comptroller Pam Childers has sued the county to restore a $1.1 million cut from her office, arguing commissioners are retaliating and threatening essential financial oversight. The case, handled by a Pensacola law firm, could affect how county funds are audited and how quickly residents' payroll, vendor payments, and other services are processed.
